根據交通部民用航空局（CAA）指出，中國政府最近宣布東海防空識別區（ADIZ）將不會影響海峽兩岸的航班。
中國國防部發言人楊宇軍表示一般的民用航班將不受影響，民航局長沈啟也如此表示，他補充說航空公司無須擔憂。沈啟表示：「他們先行提交他們的航班計畫，包含他們的民航辨識碼還有飛航路線。中國民用航空局將此訊息轉給中國國防部。」
中國表示東海防空識別區可能會跟一些飛航情報區（FIRs）重疊，但FIRs的分法是按聯合國機構國際民航組織的國際協議而定。
東海防空識別區已造成美日中之間的情勢緊張。此區域包含釣魚台（日本稱其為尖閣諸島）──有領土爭議的一區域。美國稱其「深深擔憂」此決議，並且將支持日本對抗潛在的空中威脅，而日本已經警告了可能會因此有「預料外的事件」。
(Local) Cross-Strait Flights Unaffected By ADIZ
The East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) recently announced by the Chinese authorities will not impact cross-Strait flights according to the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA).
Chinese Ministry of National Defense spokesman Yang Yujun stated that normal civilian flights will not be affected, as did CAA Director-General Jean Shen, who added that airlines need not worry. Shen stated, They submit their flight plans in advance, including their civil aviation identifier codes and the aviation routes. The Chinese civil aviation authority forwards all this information to the Chinese Ministry of National Defense.
China stated that the ADIZ may overlap with some flight information regions (FIRs) but the division of FIRs is conducted by an international agreement with the International Civilian Aviation Organization, which is a UN agency.
The ADIZ has caused tension between China and Japan and the US. The area includes the Diaoyutai Islands (which Japan calls the Senkaku islands) V an area that has been under territorial dispute. The US has claimed it is deeply concerned over the decision and that it will back Japan against potential air threats, while Japan has warned of possible unpredictable events as a result.
