國民黨（KMT）和中國共產黨同意將海峽兩岸貿易協議視為最優先事項來實施，進一步提倡兩國貿易。
隨著這為期兩天、於中國南寧舉行的兩岸經貿文化論壇落幕，前國民黨主席吳伯雄說中、台將會於台灣海峽兩岸各設立代表處來改善兩岸的溝通及交流。吳伯雄於閉幕式表示：「主管兩岸的官員，沒有到過台灣海峽的另一邊，不大對吧……我們應該能看到突破並成功舉行此種會談。」
吳伯雄也形容行政院大陸委員會主委王郁琦跟國務院臺辦主任張志軍的會談是海峽兩岸關係「好的開始」，此會談在今年稍早前的夏天在印尼舉行的亞太經合作會上進行。他並表示未來兩岸之間的會議（尤指王張之間）應具有「相當地意義」。
吳伯雄也請張志軍和中國人民政治協商會議主席俞正聲盡快到訪台灣。
(Business) Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement A Top Priority
The Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) and the Chinese Communist Party have agreed to implement a cross-strait trade agreement as a top priority to further promote trade between the two nations.
As the two-day Economic, Trade and Culture Forum in Nanning, China, came to end, former KMT chairman Wu Poh-hsiung said the two sides will set up representative offices on each side of the Taiwan Strait to improve communications and visits between the two sides. Wu stated at the closing ceremony, Its not right that officials that handle cross-strait affairs have been on the other side of the Taiwan Strait...We should see breakthroughs and make such meetings happen.
Wu also described the Mainland Affairs Council Minister Wang Yu-chis meeting with China Taiwan Affairs Office Director Zhang Zhijun, held earlier at the APEC this summer in Indonesia, as a good beginning to cross-strait relations, and said a future meeting between the two sides (particularly Wang and Zhang) could be very meaningful.
Zhang and Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Committee, have been called on by Wu to visit Taiwan soon.
