看起來TED這個以啟發心智演講出名的非營利組織要跨足電視界了。
之前只能在網路和手機應用程式上觀看，TED已經計劃要走進家庭，透過公共電視服務網以及紐約的公共電視台WNET播出一小時的特別節目，名為「TED教育演講」。
若是成功的話，之後將會有定期的TED節目可看。根據TED代表布萊克女士，就電視界而言，已經有很多人希望跟TED合作，但「若要傳達給我們的目標觀眾群，公共電視台才是對的地方」。
該節目將由歌手約翰傳奇主持，並請來英國作家肯羅賓森爵士以及Harlem Children’s Zone的執行製作人傑佛瑞卡納達一起上節目。羅賓森以之前在TED關於學校創造力的演講廣為人知，這個演講的觀看次數已經超過六千萬次，為TED最受歡迎的影片之一。
節目也以影片關於小朋友談論他們學校生活、感興趣的東西作為特色，但每個演講者都有時間限制。因此，這些演講將會被剪輯成電視可播出的時間，但完整版本將會放在網路上供觀看。
(Education) TED and PBS Partner in Education
It looks like TED, a non-profit group famous for intellectual talks, might take a stroll on over to the TV world.
Formerly seen only on the web and mobile apps, TED has plans to make its way into homes via Public Broadcasting and the New York public broadcaster WNET for a one hour special to be known as TED Talks Education.
If successful, there will be regular TED shows to follow. According to Ms. Blake, a TED representative, there have been many people wishing to partner with TED in terms of television, but, to reach the audience we want to reach, public television was the place.
The show will be hosted by the singer John Legend, and feature the English author Sir Ken Robinson and Geoffrey Canada, the chief executive of Harlem Childrens Zone. Robinson is well known for a previous TED talk on creativity in schools that has been seen more than 60 million times and is one of TEDs most popular videos.
The talks will also feature videos of children talking about their school lives and what excites them, but all speakers will have limited times. As a result, their talks have been edited for TV time, but the full versions will still be available online.
