索馬利亞恐怖組織「青年黨」近年來頻頻在全球各地發動恐怖攻擊，也嚴重影響到西方人士在非洲的安全。1月26日美軍派遣無人戰鬥機前往可疑據點進行轟炸，目標鎖定青年黨的領導幹部，希望能徹底剷除青年黨的殘存勢力。
1993年，美國曾在索馬利亞首都與青年軍交戰。原本外界認為美軍應該會輕鬆打贏，因為他們擁有絕對武力優勢。他們卻因為誤判局勢，不幸折損18位陸戰隊員與兩架黑鷹攻擊直升機。而這場慘烈的戰役，於2001年翻拍成了好萊塢電影──「黑鷹計畫」。
為維護索國的和平，除了索國政府軍之外，由非洲許多國家所共同組成的維和部隊──「非洲聯盟」，也不斷地與「青年黨」的殘存勢力交戰。希望在不久的將來，戰火不斷的索馬利亞，也能夠早日找回屬於人民的和平。
(International) US Military Conducts Airstrike in Somalia
Somali terrorist group al-Shabab recently launched a series of attacks around the world, putting the lives of the Westerners in Africa at high risk. The US military sent a drone to suspicious sites in the country on Jan. 26 to carry out a missile strike against a senior leader of al-Shabab in hopes of completely eliminating remnants of the terrorist group.
The US fought against al-Shabab in the countrys capital in 1993. It was originally believed to be an easy win for the US forces as they had an absolute advantage in weaponry. However, their misjudgment of the situation led to the unfortunate crash of two Black Hawk helicopters and the death of 18 soldiers. Incidentally, this tragic battle was made into the Hollywood movie Black Hawk Down later in 2001.
On top of Somalias own military forces, peacekeeping force African Union Mission in Somalia, which includes members from many African countries, has also been fighting nonstop against remnants of al-Shabab in a bid to maintain peace and security in the country. It is hoped that Somalia, which has long been plagued by war, can restore peace in the country in the near future.
