一項國際調查的結果顯示，美國人依舊被視為是全世界最酷的人。社群網站Badoo.com詢問來自15個不同國家一共3萬名民眾，哪一國人最酷。結果美國人顯然是贏家。他們打敗了巴西人、西班牙人、義大利人和法國人，讓他們分居第二、三、四、五名。
Badoo的行銷部主任Lloyd Price對這個結果顯然一點也不感到驚訝。美國有「世界最酷的領袖歐巴馬、最酷的饒舌歌手Jay-Z和Snoop Dogg，還有科技業裡最酷的人──蘋果的史蒂夫賈伯斯，他甚至讓網路宅男都變酷了。」
在酷炫天平的另一端，比利時人被選為最不酷的人。比利時人一向就以嚴肅著稱。這個國家對現代流行文化也沒有很多貢獻。但是比利時人還是面對了來自波蘭、土耳其、加拿大和德國的激烈競爭。

Thousands of people around the world were surveyed to find out their views.
The results of an international survey show that Americans are still viewed as the coolest people in the world. The Badoo.com social networking site asked 30,000 people from 15 different countries what the coolest nationality is. American came out as the clear winner. It beat Brazilian, Spanish, Italian, and French into second, third, fourth, and fifth place respectively.
Lloyd Price, the director of marketing for Badoo, appeared to be unsurprised by the results. America has the worlds coolest leader, Obama; the coolest rappers, Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg; and the coolest man in technology, Steve Jobs of Apple V the man who even made geeks cool.
At the other end of the cool scale, Belgians were voted the most uncool. The Belgians have a reputation for being very serious. The country hasnt made many contributions to modern, popular culture either. The Belgians did face tough competition from the Polish, Turkish, Canadians, and Germans, though.
