最近的研究發現在台灣販售高達70%的牛奶和乳製品含有使用於家畜身上的化學物質和殘留物質，這些物質會對人類有害。
這些化學物質含有抗生素、塑化劑、鎮定劑、抗憂鬱藥物、避孕藥、雌激素化合物和其他藥物，都存在鮮乳和乳製品之中。
一些國內的乳製品供應商龍頭，像是統一、味全、光泉和台灣比菲多被發現含有高量的化學物質。
違規最嚴重的有統一瑞穗巧克力調味乳，含有雌激素和避孕藥，還有台灣比菲多的可可好朋友，含有鎮定劑和抗憂鬱藥物。
這些研究結果是近來台灣一系列橫掃全國的食品醜聞之中最新一波報導。摻假油最近發現受污染的歷史已經能追溯至2006年，而其他有問題的食品也浮上檯面。在2011年，發現非酒精飲料製商使用塑化劑作為起雲劑，而醜聞包含了錯誤標示的米、麵包以及其他產品持續浮上檯面，引來進一步的調查，並導致國內外對台灣產品的安全缺乏信心。
(Health) Food Safety Concerns Rise As Milk Dairy Found to Contain Chemicals
A recent study found that up to 70% of the milk and dairy products sold in Taiwan have levels of chemicals and residues from livestock animals that can be harmful to humans.
The chemicals, which include antibiotics, plasticizers, tranquilizers, antidepressants, contraceptives, estrogen compounds and other pharmaceuticals, were all present in milk and dairy products.
Some of the nations leading dairy suppliers, such as Uni-President, Wei Chuan, Kuang Chuan and Taiwan Bifido, were found to have high levels of chemicals.
Some of the worst offenders were Uni-President chocolate flavored milk, which contains estrogen and contraceptive drugs, and Taiwan Bifido Cocoa Milk, which contained tranquilizers and antidepressants.
These findings are the latest in a series of Taiwanese food scandals to sweep the nation. Adulterated oils were recently found that have been tainted from as far back as 2006, and other faulty food products have surfaced as well. In 2011 it was found that soft drink makers used plasticizer as a clouding agent, and scandals involving mislabeled rice, breads and other goods continue to surface, leading to further investigations and a lack of confidence in the safety of Taiwanese products both within Taiwan and abroad.
