(Travel) Montreal V the perfect transatlantic alliance
Theres so much to see, do, and eat in the city, that youll surely want to return.
Montreal, the largest city in the French-speaking Canadian state of Quebec, is the perfect combination of North American showiness and European style. With great museums, an old town area, a nearby mountain, and a fantastic restaurant scene to check out, there are plenty of attractions thatll have you coming back again and again.
Montreal natives like nothing more on a weekend morning than to sit down for a good long brunch. As the city has such strong French connections, there are plenty of places to get a continental snack of French toast, eggs, and coffee. If thats not your cup of tea, though, variety is available in the shape of Brazilian cuisine and toasted sesame bagels. For a more portable feast, head to the Marche Jean-Talon V the citys biggest market.
To burn off all those calories, you could head to Mont Royal for a nice hike up to the Kondiaronk Lookout where youll get a glorious view of the city. Or, if youd prefer to stay in the city, stroll through the streets of Old Montreal and take a wander through the excellent Museum of Archeology and History.
