With the arrival of the yellow duck in Kaohsiung, local businesses are all geared up to make the most of this lucrative opportunity.
The iconic yellow duck has become ubiquitous in Kaohsiung. Everywhere on the street, there are yellow duck dolls and toys, coming in all sizes. Yellow duck art installations can also be found on display at various places in the city. However, if you want to see the real deal, Kaohsiung MRT has launched a one day duck-viewing package deal to allow tourists to take an up-close look at the 18-meter-tall duck.
If you are tired and hungry from all the duck-viewing, you can treat yourself to some duck-themed desserts. Many restaurants and bakeries are now offering adorable duck-shaped cakes, sweets and bread to attract customers. Some are selling so well that you need to order 3 days in advance.
