(Politics) Obama Wins over Veterans, Pledges Support
President Obama marked this past Veterans Day holiday by laying a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and pledging that soldiers needs would be met in the future.
Even though the wars in the Middle East and Asia are winding down, the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery had Obama in the spotlight as he pledged to assist veterans return to their normal lives.
According to Obama, After a decade of war, our heroes are coming home, and, Over the next few years more than a million servicemen will transition back to civilian life.
President Obama reaffirmed his decision to continue to the post-9/11 GI program, stating, No one who fights for this country overseas should ever have to fight for a job, or a roof over their head, or the care that they have earned when they come home.
After the ceremony, Obama also visited section 60, an area of the cemetery where many soldiers who died in Iraq and Afghanistan were buried, to pay his respects.
